Normally, this is the spot where an activity check would have gone. However, ever since the restart of the game, we have seen the activity within the community crawl down to nearly nothing no matter how we've admonished. Open threads have been left completely unanswered, which is frustrating to us, and the players who created them, and there's just been a general apathy with commenting. At this point, nearly two-thirds of the community has NOT passed activity check this two-week period. We don't know if it was because of discomfort with everyone being out of school, schedules, illness or other factors but X and I have come to the painful and regretful conclusion that the grand experiment that we called Mockery....has failed.
Effectively immediately, Mockery is closed. We thank you all for the good times, and we hope that you all find good homes for your characters |

We've had some decent luck advertising/scouring ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) playersresource for players. I was getting ready to do some more ads and looking, and other than a Ron Weasley and a George Weasley (and well, any Weasley, really) I was wondering who you guys would like me to look for and what sorts of storylines you had in mind. It will give me an idea about what to post, or to look for when I go hunting.
PLEASE let me know by tomorrow evening or it won't get posted in this round of advertising. Thanks guys!

Just an FYI -- I've been sick for the past few days and still haven't turned a corner yet. I'm less coherent than usual and have been trying to get as much sleep as possible. Hopefully I and Remus will be back up to speed in a few days. ♥ thanks for understanding. |

We've gone through and done the activity check. Needless to say, we're not exactly happy with the results. Several of you have BARELY squeaked through the requirements, and R has been removed for inactivity.

As you know, usually every month we try to start with the front cover of the Daily Prophet. They used to have some of the plot points were were trying to move forwards, and in some respects they still will....but as the game has moved more into a social setting one, the Prophet will be focusing more in on what's going on with the "great heroes" and villains of the war.
That's where YOU come in. What would you like to see about your character in the Prophet? Leave a comment here to what you'd like to see in the Prophet, and we'll work it in.
OR at the very least, please tell the Rita Skeeter in my head that we do not need a 'Hottest Heroes and Heroines of the War' edition of Witches Weekly, completely with magically altered pictures of everyone's head on sexy swimsuit model bodies. Please. I beg of you.
We made it to Saturday! A few of you might have gotten comments, but almost everyone had gotten up an entries and are starting to interact with each other. You know us, we always want more...but we see a good start. Keep it up! The first activity check WILL be in/around the 17th...so keep on going!

UPDATE YOUR FRIENDS LISTS There are quite a few of you who haven't added our new people...and everyone one needs to get an update up in their journal, and start getting interacting again. Our new people have until the 9th to update or be in/start a thread, and the will be an activity check in 2 weeks on the 18th!

I did pick up an AIM screen name and managed to actually get something fairly close to the username. WE have a LOT of stuff to tell you as we get closer to the relaunch of Mockery v2.1!
1. After nearly 2 weeks of backbreaking work...the Mockery Canon is close to completion! We have posted everything up to May 2nd up, and have tried to include as much of the information that you gave us in your Feb 98-Present summaries. We WILL be getting the rest (May 3rd to present) up soon.
2.NEW MEMBERS We actually have new people who are joining us for our relaunch! Please, when you see their intros, welcome R and a new S. R replaces our resident megamorph, Tonks, and S will be taking over the role of Remus Lupin. The old love triangle SL with Tonks, Lupin and Snape is in force! We thank these two great players for joining us

Hey guys...hey.
Now that I'm back from Vaca, I've been working with X to delve into the timeline. As X announced, we are going to restart the game on February 4th...by moving the time the game is set forward by one year. On Sunday, the gamedate will be Feb 4, 1999. The War is over, Harry won and the wizarding world is still rebuilding. Those people who were seventh years will be allowed to get private tutors to study for their NEWTs and the Ministry will be making arrangements with people to take their exams so they don't have to go back to Hogwarts to repeat their seventh year. Hogwarts was so badly damaged that the school has been closed for the 1998-1999 year
To make things easier for all of use, we're going to ask you to comment to THIS post with 2 things:
1. what your character was doing between Feb, 1998 until May 1, 1998. May 1 is the date we've figured as best we can from the book and the Lexicon, that the Battle of Howgarts occurred.
2. what your character has been doing from May 2, 1998 until Feb, 1999
There are a four set 'categories' that we're going to have for characters, based on where you work:
Ministry: self-explanatory. Your character works for the Ministry of Magic, based out of London
Diagon Alley: Those who have shops, work in shops and pubs, work for the Daily Prophet or are are otherwise employed in and around Diagon Alley
Hogsmeade/Hogwarts: Those who have shops, work in shops and pubs, work for the Daily Prophet or are are otherwise employed in and around Hogsmeade, as well as anyone involved in the Hogwarts rebuilding efforts
Other: Those who are independently wealthy, work in other places or other organizations
I will be posting Justin, Hermione and Draco's information, to give everyone an idea of what we're looking for.
Please have your info added to THIS post by Saturday, February 3rd. Also, A journal entry for yoru character wouldn't hurt either ;-)

The only thing worse than writing out a thread that you make OPEN TO EVERYONE and having no-one answer...is being the one to answer that thread, and have the original author abandon it. Please be courteous to your fellow players at all times, but ESPECIALLY when they answer an Open thread you create.

I know I said I'd be slow while at home, but I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm still around. I'm just working like 6-day weeks and 8+ hour days, and then any nights I have free, it's either going out or watching my baby. So, yeah, around but almost not?

Michael's ready and willing to begin the graffiti project, but I wasn't quite sure how to post it. Should we use our journals and just make it clear that it was done anonymously or use the NPC journal? Can we get a DA coin icon for the NPC journal? I know you guys are using ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) mockery_anons for the parchments and stuff that you're doing, but how do you want us to post?

You now have 24 hours to make sure that your characters have been in an RP thread and have updated their journals. We delayed the activity check because our move to IJ took place right around the holidays, so that means you've had three weeks. We will be checking for journal entries as well as commenting and RP threads. With everyone back in the castle and classes restarting tomorrow, we're hoping for a flurry of activity!
We know we all get into this rut of only commenting to/threading with those we have romantical type/plotting-SLs with...but we're asking you to remember that we have an overall game plot that we're moving forward as well. In the next six weeks there is going to be an EXPLOSION of plot going on in Mockery. We are getting to the point where the DA MUST begin being much more active in harassing and defying the Carrows. That means all members. That means those members who are 'sitting the fence' as it were and haven't really decided what they plan on doing...you need to start having your character make a stand one way or another. We know we only have one professor and the Headmaster...but we are going to ask the same of both of you. For those of you playing Slytherins...that means that there's a lot that you can get away with, as the Carrows won't reprimand you for picking on your fellow students, attacking them, etc. Each of you is tremendously important to us and to the plot, so we're asking you to help us with this by being active. IF you have a question, ASK. Check the Timeline to see if there's something new. Use the NCP journal (log in and click --> here for the password for the mockery_npc journal) among yourselves to play things out for characters we don't have played. Talk about how things in Dark Arts and Muggle Studies classes are getting worse and worse.

As the real-life holiday season beings to wind down and as every gets used to our new home, we hope to see everyone's activiy rise in the coming weeks. Also, our new home has some neat features like Tracking Recent Comments and the Nudge A Friend feature in the journals (somethinge we're going ot use a LOT for activity checks!). We still need TWO members of the DA to volunteer to take the other two 'Your Friend' journals. Please comment here if your DA member is willing ot help with this important plot!
